Chris Axelrad,M.S.O.M., L.Ac., M.Q.P., a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist, has been studying various forms of natural healing modalities, including meditation, Yoga, Tai Chi, and Qi Gong, since 1990. After a varied career as a professional musician and software developer, he began his career in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
He earned his graduate degree and performed his internship in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at the nationally acclaimed American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Houston, Texas. He graduated with honors after completing 2,600 hours of training, including 870 hours of clinical practice and 570 hours of herbology. He is a diplomate with the NCCAOM, and is a professional member of the Texas Acupuncture Association.
During over 800 hours of clinical internship and instruction encompassing over 500 patient visits, Chris participated in and directed the treatments of many common and uncommon conditions, including but not limited to:
Pain of the neck, back, hips, shoulders, feet, knees, and arms
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), chronic constipation
Irregular menses, PMS, pre and peri-menopausal symptoms, and menstrual cramps
Insomnia, restless sleep
Anxiety and depression
Chronic sinusitis and allergic rhinitis
Chronic migraines
High blood pressure and high cholesterol
Fatigue and weakness related to HIV and chemotherapy
